The heart and soul of a country are represented by their politics. This may take the form of their government, the acts they commit as a nation on the international stage. It may be reflected by the stability of their system with long periods or peace and prosperity or eruptive episodes of revolution and change. Politics is the authoritative allocation of the scarce resources of a society and international relations are the struggle for those resources.
